Stormy Maine seas can be exciting, astounding, invigorating, refreshing, powerful and just plain beautiful. The sound of the waves crashing against the shore, the thunder of the rollers heading in, the magnificent white horses, the thrill of standing too close and getting splashed – any time of year, after a storm, people flock to the shore to witness the power of the ocean.
These images were captured in August after hurricanes passed by offshore, during high winds in September, in January when the snow has covered the beaches.
